Abstract
Leptin je polipeptidni hormon primarno lučen iz adipoznog tkiva. Produkt je ob/ob gena. Predstavlja poveznicu između energetskog statusa organizma i reproduktivnih funkcija. Prisutnost leptina u brojnim tkivima ukazuje na njegovu multifunkcionalnu ulogu u organizmu. Svoje djelovanje ostvaruje putem leptinskih receptora (ObR). Uključen je u brojne signalne puteve kojima povezuje informacije iz periferije tijela sa centralnim živčanim sustavom. Poremećaji u koncentraciji leptina dovode do abnormalnih stanja kao što je pretilost. U ovom istraživanju ustanovljena je prisutnost leptinskih receptora u miometriju i endometriju maternica Sprague Dawley štakora, te značajna povećana ekspresija leptina u skupini štakora hranjenih dijetom s visokim udjelom masti i šećera, u odnosu na grupu hranjenu standardnom dijetom.
Abstract (english)
Leptin is a polypeptide hormone primarily secreted from adipose tissue. It is a product of ob/ob gene. Leptin is a link between the energy status of the organism and reproductive functions. The presence of leptin in many tissues indicates its multifunctional role in the organism. It acts through leptin receptors (ObR). Leptin is involved in a number of signaling pathways that connect information from the periphery of the body to the central nervous system. Disorders in leptin concentration lead to abnormal conditions such as obesity. This study found the presence of leptin receptors in the myometrium and endometrium of the uterus of Sprague Dawley rats, and a significant increased expression of leptin in the group of rats fed a diet high in fat and sugar, compared to the group fed a standard diet.
