Abstract
Proizvodnja svjetlosti, točnije, bioluminiscencija je proces koji kod različitih vrsta životinja omogućuje komunikaciju, prije svega za privlačenje suprotnog spola prilikom razmnožavanja, obranu od predatora te ishranu. Jedna od poprilično istraženih skupina životinja s bioluminiscentnom sposobnošću su krijesnice (Lampiridae), s tim da su europske vrste krijesnica one koje su poprilično malo istražene. Sami obrasci ponašanja manifestiraju se upravo proizvodnjom svjetlosti što je produkt kemijskih reakcija mnogih učesnika, s tim da je najophodniji kemijski spoj luciferin. Procesi urbanizacije, industrijalizacije te općenito negativnih čimbenika u kojima je glavni akter čovjek imaju ogroman utjecaj na brojnost ovih vrsta, što ih čini sve rjeđim vrstama kukaca.
Abstract (english)
Light production or bioluminescence rather, is a process that allows communication in many different species of animals, especially for attracting the members of the opposite sex during mating, defense against predators and feeding. One of the most researched groups of animals with bioluminescent abilities are fireflies (Lampiridae), considering that the European species of fireflies are researched much less than others. Behavior patterns are actually manifested in light production, which is a chemical reaction of many products, in order that the most necessary chemical compound is luciferin. Processes of urbanization, industrialization and just negative factors in general, where humans are the protagonists, have u huge influence on members of these species, which makes them all less common among others species of animals.
