Abstract
Prehrana je jedan od najvažnijih okolišnih faktora koji djeluje na ljudski organizam, a posebno prenatalnom razvoju. Hrana biljnog i životinjskog porijekla sadrži važne biološki aktivne tvari koje djeluju na velik broj fizioloških i biokemijskih procesa u organizmu čovjeka. Također, mogu imati velik utjecaj na modeliranje epigenetičkih biljega koji uzrokuju određenu bolest kao što su tumori te njihove modifikacije mogu poslužiti u preventivne i terapeutske svrhe. Unatoč dokazane pozitivne korelacije između biološki aktivnih tvari i prevencije raka putem različitih epigenetičkih mehanizmima, dodatna istraživanja su potrebna kako bi se došlo do novih spoznaja koja će omogućiti razvoj novih metoda i lijekova u terapiji određenog tipa tumora.
Abstract (english)
Nutrition is one of the most important environmental factor affecting the human body, especially prenatal development. Food of plant and animal origin contains important biologically active substances that have impact on a large number of physiological and biochemical processes in the human body. They can also have a major influence on the modelling of epigenetic markers that cause certain diseases such as tumours and their modifications can serve in preventive and therapeutic purposes. Despite proven positive correlation between biologically active substances and cancer prevention through various epigenetic mechanisms, additional research is required to point out new findings that will enable the development of new methods and drugs in the therapy of a certain type of tumours.
