Abstract
Holandska bolest brijesta jedan je od najznačajnijih uzroka propadanja stabala brijesta diljem sjeverne hemisfere. Prva pandemija ove bolesti uzrokovana je gljivom mješinarkom Ophiostoma ulmi, a drugu je uzrokovala agresivnija vrsta, O. novo-ulmi, te ta pandemija traje još i danas. Vrsta O. novo-ulmi ima dva tipa spolne kompatibilnosti označene kao MAT-1 i MAT-2 te dolazi u formi podvrste O. novo-ulmi subsp. novo-ulmi i subsp. americana, a u prirodi su prisutni i hibridi ovih dviju podvrsta. U ovom radu korišteno je šest izolata gljive O. novo-ulmi s područja Nove Kapele koji su molekularno karakterizirani. Cilj rada bio je istražiti utjecaj različitih koncentracija jasmonske kiseline na brzinu rasta micelija gljive O. novo-ulmi. Rezultati su pokazali da jasmonska kiselina do određene koncentracije nije imala statistički značajan utjecaj na rast svih testiranih izolata, dok se utjecaj većih koncentracija razlikovao ovisno o izolatu. Povećanje koncentracije jasmonske kiseline u tretmanu uzrokovalo je povećanje brzine rasta micelija nekih izolata, dok je daljnjim povećavanjem koncentracije kod nekih izolata došlo do smanjenja rasta, što ukazuje da bi mogle postojati značajne razlike u odgovora različitih izolata fitopatogene gljive O. novo-ulmi na djelovanje vanjskih čimbenika.
Abstract (english)
Dutch elm disease is one of the major causes of elm decline throughout the northern hemisphere. The first pandemic of this disease was caused by the ascomycete fungus Ophiostoma ulmi, the second by a more aggressive species, O. novo-ulmi, and this pandemic continues to this day. The species O. novo-ulmi has two sexual compatibility types, designated as MAT-1 and MAT-2, and occurs in the form of subspecies O. novo-ulmi subsp. novo-ulmi and subsp. americana. Hybrids of these two subspecies also exist in nature. In this study, six isolates of the fungus O. novo-ulmi from the area of Nova Kapela were used, which were molecularly characterized. The aim was to investigate the influence of different concentrations of jasmonic acid on the growth rate of mycelia of the fungus O. novo-ulmi. The results showed that, up to a certain concentration, jasmonic acid had no statistically significant effect on the growth of any of the tested isolates, while the effect of higher concentrations differed. An increase in the concentration of jasmonic acid in the treatment caused an increase in the mycelial growth rate of some isolates, while a further increase in the concentration caused a decrease in the growth of some isolates, indicating that there could be significant differences in the response of different isolates of the phytopathogenic fungus O. novo-ulmi to external factors.
