Abstract
Parenje bliskih srodnika ili inbreeding prisutan je u biljnom i životinjskom svijetu, ali i kod ljudi. Mnoga znanstvena istraživanja utvrdila su negativan utjecaj takvog načina razmnožavanja na potomstvo, a time i cijele populacije neke vrste. Takve jedinke podložne su gubitku vitalnosti, fitnesa i češće podliježu genetski uvjetovanim bolestima. Inbreeding je kao takav snažna “evolucijska sila” koja djeluje na divlje, ali i one umjetno uzgajane vrste
Abstract (english)
Mating of close relatives or inbreeding is present in animals, plants, and humans. Many scientific research have established the negative impact that inbreeding has on progeny and by that, the whole populations of a species. Such individuals are susceptible to the loss of vigor, fitness and are more prone to genetically conditioned diseases. Inbreeding is a strong “evolutionary force” which impacts both wild and artificially bred species
