Abstract
Fitopatogene gljive su jedan od čestih uzročnika bolesti pšenice. U interakciji s biljkom dolazi do promjena u sekundarnom metabolizmu i pokretanju mehanizama obrane, ali isto tako dolazi do promjena i u primarnom metabolizmu. Promjene osiguravaju dovoljnu količinu energije za biljku, ali i sprječavaju patogene u iskorištavanju asimilata koje biljka proizvodi. Cilj je ovog istraživanja odrediti ulogu metabolizma ugljikohidrata u obrambenom odgovoru pšenice na fuzarijsku palež klasa. Istraživanje je provedeno na listu zastavičaru šest sorti ozime pšenice inokulirane fitopatogenim gljivama roda Fusarium. Aktivnosti enzima glikolize, metabolizma škroba, biosinteze saharoze i pentoza-fosfatnog puta određivani su spektrofotometrijskim metodama poluvisoke propusnosti. Sorte koje su klasificirane kao otporne, Vulkan i Galoper, imale su povećane aktivnosti svih istraživanih enzima, dok su osjetljivije sorte Golubica i Tika Taka imale snižene aktivnosti pojedinih enzima metabolizma. Rezultati istraživanja upućuju na važnu ulogu metabolizma ugljikohidrata u obrambenom odgovoru pšenice na vrste roda Fusarium, vjerojatno regulacijom signalnih puteva.
Abstract (english)
Phytopathogenic fungi are one of the frequent causes of wheat diseases. During plantpathogen interaction, there are changes in the secondary metabolism and the initiation of defense mechanisms, but there are also changes in the primary metabolism. These changes ensure sufficient energy for the plant but also disable pathogens from utilizing assimilates produced by plants. This research aims to determine carbohydrate metabolism's role in wheat defense response to Fusarium head blight. The research was carried out on flag leaves of six winter wheat varieties inoculated with phytopathogenic fungi of the genus Fusarium. The activities of enzymes of glycolysis, starch metabolism, sucrose biosynthesis, and the pentose-phosphate pathway were determined by semi-high throughput spectrophotometric methods. Varieties classified as resistant, Vulkan and Galoper, had increased activity of all investigated enzymes, while the more susceptible varieties Golubica and Tika Taka had decreased metabolic activity of certain enzymes. The research results indicate an important role of carbohydrate metabolism in wheat defense response to Fusarium species, probably through the regulation of signaling pathways.
