Abstract
Razred vodozemaca (Amphibia) uključujući i žabe iz porodice Ranidae smatra se jednom od najugroženijih skupina životinja na svijetu. Neki od najčešćih uzroka smanjivanja brojnosti vrsta su globalno zatopljenje, gljivična oboljenja, ali i pesticidi. Nakupljanje pesticida u tlu i ispiranje uslijed poplava ili oborina dovodi do njihovog taloženja u barama i jezerima gdje se žabe razmnožavaju i žive te na taj način pesticidi direktno djeluju na smanjivanje brojnosti vrsta. Zbog sve većeg širenja poljoprivrednih površina dolazi do povećane upotrebe pesticida za koje je dokazano da imaju negativne utjecaje na razmnožavanje, razvoj, rast i ponašanje žaba. U ovom radu istraženo je djelovanje pesticida na porodicu Ranidae te je dokazano da u određenim koncentracijama uzrokuju fiziološke i morfološke promjene punoglavaca i odraslih jedinki te da je njihova povećana upotreba jedan od razloga smanjivanja brojnosti žaba u svijetu.
Abstract (english)
Class Amphibia, including frogs of family Ranidae are considered one of the most endangered animal groups in the world. Some of the most common causes of their decline are global warming, fungal diseases and pesticides. Accumulation of pesticides in the soil and their runoff due to floods or precipitation lead to their deposition in ponds and lakes where frogs reproduce and live, so pesticides thus directly affect the species number. Due to the expansion of agricultural areas, increased use of pesticides has been shown to have adverse effects on reproduction, development, growth and behavior of frogs. This study investigates the effects of pesticides on the family Ranidae, and shown that at certain concentrations pesticides cause physiological and morphological changes in tadpoles and adult individuals and that their increased use is one of the reasons for the decline of frogs in the world.
