Abstract
Šišmiši su jedna od tri skupine životinja koja je razvila sposobnost aktivnog leta, a jedina skupina u razredu sisavaca (mammalia). Noćne su životinje i postoji više od 1000 vrsta šišmiša. Dijele se u dva podreda velešišmiši i sitnošišmiši, razlikuju se u ishrani, staništu i ponašanju. Prilikom kretanja i snalaženja u prostoru pomaže im mogućnost eholokacije, stvaranje zvučnih valova koji su ljudskom uhu nečujni. Osnovni zadatak ovoga rada je prepariranje šišmiša metodom maceriranja kako bi dobili očišćeni kostur vrste Eptesicus serotinus koji se koristi za usporedbu evolucijskih promjena, sličnosti i razlika s pticama i drugim skupinama životinja iz razreda sisavaca. Daje se primjer homolognih organa. Također, opisane su osnovne karakteristike šišmiša i njihova važnost u prirodi.
Abstract (english)
Bats are one of three groups of animals that have developed the ability of active flight, and the only group in the mammalian class. They are noctural animals and there are more than 1000 species of bats. They are divided into two suborders, Megachiroptera and Microchiroptera, and they are distinguished by nutrition, habitats and behaviors. Eholocation helps them to move around, they are creating sound waves that are silent to the human ear. The basic task of this paper is to prepare the bat using a maceration method to obtain a cleansed skeleton of species Eptesicus serotinus used to compare evolutionary changes, similarities and differences with birds and other groups of mammalian animals. An example of homologous organs is given. Also, the basic characteristics of the bat are described and their importance in nature.
