Abstract
Bijela roda (Ciconia ciconia L. 1785) iz porodice Ciconiidae, naša je najveća i najpoznatija selica u kontinentalnom dijelu Hrvatske. Cilj završnog rada bila je analiza odnosa spolova bijelih roda na području Podunavlja izolacijom DNA iz pera. Za istraživanje je korišten standardni protokol za izolaciju genomske DNA. Utvrđen je spol za 42 jedinke, od čega je 27 mužjaka, a 15 ženki. Odnos spolova unutar populacije važan je faktor stabilne populacije, stoga je važno nastaviti provoditi sezonska istraživanja odnosa spolova roda u Podunavlju, ali i cijeloj Hrvatskoj.
Abstract (english)
White stork (Ciconia ciconia L. 1785), a member of the Ciconiidae family, is our biggest and best-known migratory bird in the Continental part of Croatia. The aim of this thesis was to analyze the sex ratio of white storks in the Podunavlje area, by isolating DNA from the samples of feathers. We used the standard protocol for isolating genomic DNA. A sex for 42 individuals was established, there were 27 males and 15 females. One of the most important factors for the stable population is the sex ratio, so it is important that seasonal research focused on the sex ratio are continued in both Podunavlje, but also the whole of Croatia.
