Abstract
Teški metali u biljkama uzrokuju oksidacijski stres koji uništava biljnu stanicu. Biljke akumuliraju teške metale koji narušavaju unutarstaničnu ionsku homeostazu. Za smanjenje negativnog učinka teških metala razvile su mehanizme obrane. Glavnu ulogu u tome imaju fitokelatini, peptidi bogati cisteinom koji se sintetiziraju iz preteče glutationa pomoću enzima fitokelatin-sintaze. Sinteza fitokelatina ovisi o vrsti i koncentraciji teških metala te vrsti i uvjetima uzgoja biljke. U biljci se prisutnost fitokelatina može odrediti metodama visokotlačne tekućinske kromatografije i Western blot metode.
Abstract (english)
Heavy metals in plants cause oxidative stress that leads to cellular damage. Plants accumulate heavy metals that disrupt intracellular ionic homeostasis. To reduce the negative impact of heavy metals, they have developed defense mechanisms. The main role in this have phytochelatins, peptides rich with cysteine, which are synthesized from the glutathione precursor by the phytochelatin synthase enzyme. The synthesis of phytochelatin depends on the type and concentration of heavy metals and the type and conditions of plant breeding. The presence of phytochelatin in plants can be determined with the high pressure liquid chromatography method and western blot method.
