Abstract
Epigenetika je znanost koji se bavi proučavanjem epigenoma, odnosno, proučava mehanime aktivacije i supresije određenih gena bez promjene na molekuli DNA. Mehanizmi epigenetike kojima se regulira ekspresija gena su metilacija DNA, sustav interferirajućih RNA i modifikacija histona. Istraživanjem navedenih mehanizama pojavili su se novi lijekovi koji djeluju na maligne poremećaje putem epigenetskih mehanizama. U ovom radu biti će opisani trenutno dopušteni lijekovi, njihovi mehanizmi djelovanja i konačni cilj djelovanja.
Abstract (english)
Epigenetics is science that studies epigenoma, that is, studies the mechanisms of activation and suppression of certain genes without altering the DNA molecule. Mechanisms of epigenetics that regulate genes expression in the cell are methylation of DNA, system of RNA interfering and histone modification. Research of these epigenetic mechanisms leads to creation of new drugs that have possibilites to act on malignant disoreder. This paper will describe the currently permissible drugs, their mechanism of action and the ultimate goal in their use.
