Abstract
Šišmiši su priznati kao indikatorske vrste zbog svog utjecaja na ekosustave koje nastanjuju, te zadržavaju ključne uloge u ekosustavima koje nastanjuju, poput kontrole populacija brojnih vrsta kukaca kojima se hrane. Vrste roda Nyctalus (večernjaci) su među većim šišmišima iz porodice Vespertilionidae i isključivo nastanjuju šumska staništa. Kao i ostale vrste iz ove porodice svi su insektivorni. Od 8 vrsta četri se pojavljuju na području Europe i Azije i to su N. lasiopterus, N. leislari i N. noctula, te endemična vrsta za Azorske otoke, N. azoreum. Ostale četri vrste karakteristične su samo za područje Azije, N. aviator, N. plancy i N. montanus, te N. furvus koji je endemičan za Japan.
Abstract (english)
Bats are recognized as indicator species because of their impact on the ecosystems that they inhabit and have a key roles in those ecosystems, such as control of the population of insects on witch they feed. Species of the genus Nyctalus (noctule) are among the largest bats of the family Vespertilionidae and they exclusively inhabit forest habitats. Like other species from this family all are insectivorous. Four out of eight species inhabited area of Europe and Asia. Those are N. lasiopterus, N. leislari, N. noctula and N. azoreum witch is endemic species of the Azores islands. Remening four species are inhabiting Asia and those are N. aviator, N. plancy, N. montanus and N. furvus witch is endemic species of Japan.
